Check compatibility
Jun 23, 2015 It has been suprisingly removed in El Capitan DP2, and this is why neither SmoothMouse or Wacom driver work there. IOHID is not a widely known API, because it was poorly documented, but if you're in driver development, it's the only choice for a plethora of reasons, the most important being excellent performance. Apr 29, 2017 I downgraded to El Capitan as I needed to work, but now i'm trying again. I will install Sierra, remove drivers, install Driver 6.3.15-3, and see. Since I started this thread, I just wanted to report in that I haven't had any issues with the 6.3.15-3 driver and my Intuos 3 under Sierra.

Hi
Wacom Drivers For Mac El Capitan
I Work on a macbook pro (15 inch, mid 2010) which is on El capitan, with the latest update (30 days ago).
I own an Intuos 5 Pro medium pen tablet. It recently stopped working. Being in India, I looked up all the community threads, which asked me to unistall/ reinstall the driver, check the power cable etc. I followed all these, to no avail. I then contacted Wacom in India, who directed me to Wacom Southeact Asia. They contacted me, told me the same steps, and then put me in touch with Wacom's service centre, which is in another city.
The Service centre contacted me and gave me a hefty estimate for 'replacing' what they diagnosed as a faulty part. The estimate is almost as much as a new one.
So I bought a Brand new Wacom one medium tablet yesterday.
This one also refuses to work on my mac.
Upon doing some research, I found out about incompatibility issues with El Capitan (!!!!????)
Since then, I've tried all of these suggestions found online over various community groups:
1) uninstall/ reinstall latest driver. Tried. Failed.
2) Uninstall wacom driver and apps, 'repair permissions' (via terminal) and reinstall. Failed.
3) Create a separate user on the system, install driver there, and then re-log in to original user and voila!...Failed.
4)Install an older version (5.3.6-6 is the latest, and I've tried 5.3.0-3 and 5.3.5-4). Failed.
5) Even tried the latest driver for Intuos series, which Wacom Europe says works with El capitan (WacomTablet_6.3.15-3). Failed.
6) Apple community threads suggested I remove the login items from my system preferences, unistall driver, restart, reinstall..This too does not work.
Going through all these steps, it comes to mind that perhaps my original Intuos tablet is also a victim to this incompatibility!!??
Am shocked at Wacom's inability to answer, and incompetence in providing the latest drivers (last driver came out in January 2015). Am also disappointed with El capitan for not being the mighty OS it was supposed to be, if it can't solve this tiny issue.
Can anyone help me out here? Or do you think I should downgrade and go back to yosemite?
